ATTA 40k

Another step in the right direction after the 40k TT in Wandi on Sunday.

The goal going into the race was have a hard hit out after a big week of training and try to average over 40km/h.

After a very unsucessfully start I managed to achieve this. First I had to disconnect my back brakes as they where rubbing on my race wheels, but not the wheels I rode down on. By doing this I missed my start by 30secs. Then my bike computer fell off after 500m which I decided to leave and pick up after the race. But once I got going without the bike computer and rear brakes everything else went to plan. Ended up coming 4th overall and an average speed of 40.22km/h. So without these rookie mistakes at the start I still was only 1 min off first place. However most of the stronger TT riders either competed in the 80k or the Kalamunda TT up the zig zag.

Unfortunatly this was the final TT of the season. But this also means the start of the running season with many good WAMC races on in June to look forward to.

Thanks to Chris Ratty for the photos and also for bringing my race wheels and helmet down race morning.

Its Time

I finally think my bad run has come to an end and I am finally fit and healthy and most important of all the body is 100%. So I think now is a good time to resume blogging.
The first thing is, all good things are worth waiting for. Two weeks ago I received my new time trial bike.

This bike is by far the fastest bike I have ever ridden. So a big Thank you to Nick at Garland Cycles for arranging the bike, Andrew Ivy at elitesportz specialist for a perfect set up and of course Specialized who I am hoping to have a partnership with for some time.

I have now managed to string together four weeks of solid training and I am now starting to fell almost fit again. I have entered the ATTA 40k TT this weekend, one to see how the fitness is going and two to test out the new wheels. Having disappointedly missed out on both Singapore and Busso due to injury I am really looking forward to getting out there and doing a few races. However I am having trouble with finding races to do. So if anyone knows any races coming up please let me know. At this stage I have enter Yeppoon 70.3 and that’s all. Plus I will be doing a few of the WAMC races.
